Awning Replacement Windows
Is window hardware for awning windows interchangeable?
One of the cranks in my awning windows no longer works and is not under warranty. Would another brand of hardware (perhaps more cost effective) work as a replacement?
My current hardware is Weather Shield.
They’re called jalousie or casement windows. I’ve never seen a jealous window. To answer your question, no, they are not interchangeable. You have to find one that is made for your Weather Shield window. You may be able to remove the assembly and have it repaired. Most of the time they break because there is too much strain on the assembly due to the window hinges being rusted or dirty. You can order parts here:
